City St George's, University of London is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join the Estates, Environment & Facilities team across Clerkenwell, Moorgate and Tooting campuses.

Working within a shift-based maintenance service, you will ensure the safe, efficient operation of building services and infrastructure, carrying out preventive and reactive maintenance with strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills, and a solid commitment to health and safety.

Description

City St George's, University of London is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join the Estates, Environment & Facilities team. The department plays a vital role in supporting teaching, research and student life across the University's campuses in Clerkenwell, Moorgate and Tooting.

Working within a shift-based maintenance service, you will help ensure the safe, efficient and reliable operation of the University's mechanical building services and infrastructure.

Duties

• You will carry out planned preventative and reactive maintenance across a diverse estate, supporting the operation of heating, ventilation, water and mechanical services systems.
• The role involves fault finding, plant inspections, repairs and routine maintenance activities while maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with health and safety procedures.
• You will work collaboratively with colleagues and contractors to minimise disruption and deliver a high standard of service across the University.
• The successful candidate will have experience maintaining mechanical building services within a large or complex environment and possess strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• You will have a good understanding of health and safety requirements, including safe systems of work and permit procedures, together with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A recognised mechanical engineering qualification and experience of planned and reactive maintenance are essential.
