Qualifications

Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer (with a Mechanical Bias)
Keele, Cheshire
£41,945 to £48,287 including shift allowance plus benefits (£60,000 achievable subject to available overtime hours worked)

We are always looking towards the future and ways to improve our processes and outputs. We rely on our colleagues and teams to identify how this can be done. With this in mind, we are recruiting an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our Keele site.

What's the mission? Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Mechanical Maintenance Engineer is responsible for maintaining site equipment and machinery. Main duties include fault diagnosis both mechanically and electrically, as well as routine maintenance.

Core Skills Required: Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Machining, Fabricating, and basic electrical skills (contactors, relays, motors, etc.)

You will be working a Continental 4 on 4 off shift pattern (06:30 am – 6:30 pm and 6:30 pm – 06:30 am).

What are the mission-critical skills?

  • Maintaining all site equipment, machinery, and associated services to a safe and acceptable standard.
  • Executing Planned Preventative Maintenance and providing input into improving the system.
  • Providing mechanical/electrical support in the event of breakdowns.
  • Working and liaising with internal departments and external suppliers.
  • Completing work into the Maintenance Management System (SAP) with technical feedback.
  • Providing input into feasibility studies, Capex, and continuous improvement projects where necessary.
  • Adhering to policies and procedures related to health and safety, environment, and quality management systems.
  • Liaising and attending meetings with other company functions to perform duties and aid business development.
  • Working with stores to identify relevant and correct stock items.
  • Maintaining workplace standards within 5s methodology.
  • Carrying out other tasks as deemed necessary within the job holder’s capability.

The successful applicant will ideally have several years’ experience in maintenance within a continuous process control industry, completed a relevant recognized apprenticeship, and hold relevant electrical and mechanical qualifications.

Applicants should be enthusiastic, highly self-motivated, and flexible. They should work efficiently on their own initiative and as part of a team. A solid understanding of engineering principles, good computer literacy, and excellent communication skills are essential.
