Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer (with a Mechanical Bias)
Keele, Cheshire
£41,945 to £48,287 including shift allowance plus benefits (£60,000 achievable subject to available overtime hours worked)

What's the mission?

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Mechanical Maintenance Engineer is responsible for maintaining site equipment and machinery. Main duties include fault diagnosis both mechanically and electrically, as well as routine maintenance.

Core Skills Required: Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Machining, Fabricating, and basic electrical skills (contactors, relays, motors, etc.)

You will work a Continental 4 on 4 off shift pattern (06:30 am - 6:30 pm and 6:30 pm - 06:30 am).

What are the mission-critical skills?

• Maintaining all site equipment, machinery, and associated services to a safe and acceptable standard.
• Executing Planned Preventative Maintenance and providing input for system improvements.
• Providing mechanical/electrical support during breakdowns.
• Collaborating with internal departments and external suppliers.
• Completing work into the Maintenance Management System (SAP) with technical feedback.
• Contributing to feasibility studies, Capex, and continuous improvement projects.
• Adhering to health and safety, environmental, and quality policies and procedures.
• Prioritizing workload effectively.
• Attending meetings with other company functions to support duties and business development.
• Managing stock items in collaboration with stores.
• Maintaining workplace standards within 5S methodology.
• Performing additional tasks as necessary within your capability.

The successful candidate will have several years' maintenance experience in a continuous process control industry, completed a relevant apprenticeship, and hold relevant electrical and mechanical qualifications.

Applicants should be enthusiastic, self-motivated, flexible, and capable of working independently and as part of a team. A solid understanding of engineering principles, good computer literacy, and excellent communication skills are essential.
