Job summary

Staffline is recruiting a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer in the Nottingham area with strong preventive maintenance skills and hands-on experience in manufacturing environments. You will maintain conveyors and packaging systems, perform fault finding, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Apprentice trained or NVQ level 3 in mechanical engineering maintenance.
• Experience in manufacturing environments including heavy, FMCG, or similar.
• Experience with preventive maintenance and fault finding.
• Basic welding and fabrication skills are advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide planned, preventative and breakdown maintenance to minimise downtime.
• Keep production running with safe, logical fault-finding on equipment.
• Perform scheduled maintenance and respond to breakdowns as required.
• Work with conveyors, packaging and material handling systems.
• Lead mechanical repairs and use a CMMS for work orders.
• Identify root causes and implement improvements and overhauls.

• Job Title: Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
• Location: Nottingham area, good M1 access
• Pay Range: up to £48k plus Package Plus Bonus OTE £50K+++

Key Responsibilities - Mechanical Maintenance Engineer - Shifts

• Your new challenge will be providing effective and efficient planned, preventative and breakdown maintenance to minimise losses to production
• Ensure the continuous running of the production process by eliminating downtime through a safe and logical approach to fault-finding and maintenance of process and packaging equipment
• Planned and reactive maintenance to keep downtime to a minimum
• You'll work with conveyor systems, materials handling, automated Packaging and material processing
• Leading mechanical repair and working with a CMMS
• Diagnosis, resolution, and elimination of root causes
• Implementation of minor equipment modifications in support of increased performance
• Completion of all scheduled, planned corrective, reactive and improvement maintenance as allocated
• Contribute to the planning and implementation of allocated annual equipment overhauls

Qualifications & Requirements - Mechanical Maintenance Engineer - Shifts

• Apprentice trained or NVQ level 3 in a mechanical engineering discipline in maintenance engineering
• Manufacturing Industry experience, heavy, medium or FMCG environments considered.
• Routine Preventive Maintenance, to have an understanding of a PPM schedule
• Finding and fixing faults quickly and effectively
• Basic welding and fabrication skills advantageous
• A proactive approach to fault finding, a commitment to continuous improvement and personal development
