Salary: £45,230 Basic pay per annum (potential earnings up to £57,668 detailed below in shift pattern information)

GPW Recruitment is partnering with Ford Halewood Transmissions Ltd (FHTL) in Halewood. Ford is investing £450m into the Halewood site to produce electric power units, making it the first site to manufacture EV components in Europe.

FHTL is seeking Mechanical Maintenance Engineers to support the business. Mechanical Maintenance Engineers play a pivotal role in ensuring production machinery, assembly lines, and equipment are maintained and repaired to maximize operational uptime, adhering to all relevant FHTL procedures to meet Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Environmental objectives.

Salary Details

Basic annual salary: £45,230
All salaries include a 35% premium on all allocated holidays; 33 days holidays per year (25 vacation & 8 bank holidays).

Shift Pattern Information

FHTL operates various shift patterns aligned with production requirements, including day shift, 3-shift, 2-shift, 6DC & 7DC patterns. All shifts except day shift incur a shift premium. Potential earnings with a 3-shift pattern can be up to £57,668 per year. Note that working specific shifts or achieving maximum earnings is not guaranteed.

Qualifications and Experience
  • Recognized Engineering Craft Apprenticeship and ONC (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering
  • PC Literate
  • Ability to work under pressure, as part of a team, with a can-do attitude
  • Previous experience in Mechanical Maintenance Engineering
  • Experience with preventive maintenance, fault-finding, diagnostics on pneumatics, hydraulics, leadscrews, spindles, machine overhauls, CNC, and assembly lines
  • Excellent communication skills; experience with technical manuals and drawings
Key Responsibilities
  • Fault-finding and diagnosis on equipment
  • Planned preventative maintenance on pneumatics, hydraulics, conveyors, CNC machines, and robots
  • Recording all work undertaken
  • Analyzing and resolving mechanical faults, driving continuous improvements
  • Following safety procedures and risk assessments
  • Collaborating with other Maintenance Engineers, Vendors, Production, and Process Engineering teams
Work Pattern

Working days are Monday to Friday, with weekend work and overtime as needed. Proposed start date: ASAP, based on personal availability.
