Job summary

RecruitMe is seeking a mechanically biased engineer for a permanent role at a large-scale food manufacturing site in Anwick. You will work Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays, 4pm–4am, in a busy production environment.

The role focuses on hands-on mechanical maintenance, breakdown response, and continuous improvement, with strong emphasis on safety and reliability.

Qualifications

• Experience performing mechanical maintenance in a fast-paced production environment.
• Strong fault-finding skills for mechanical systems.
• Experience in food manufacturing or FMCG is advantageous.

Responsibilities

Are you a Mechanical Engineer, Maintenance Engineer or Multi-Skilled Engineer looking for a permanent role with a condensed working week?

We're recruiting for a Mechanical Engineer to join a busy engineering team at a large-scale food manufacturing site in Anwick. You'll work Saturday, Sunday and Monday only, giving you a highly attractive three-day working pattern while remaining in a permanent engineering role.

This is a hands-on maintenance position focused on keeping production machinery running safely, efficiently and reliably.

The Role

You'll be responsible for:

• Carrying out mechanical maintenance across production machinery and equipment
• Responding quickly and effectively to breakdowns
• Diagnosing and repairing mechanical faults
• Completing planned preventative maintenance
• Supporting production teams to minimise downtime
• Identifying recurring faults and contributing to continuous improvement
• Working safely and following site engineering procedures
• Supporting the wider engineering team across a busy manufacturing environment

Experience within food manufacturing, FMCG, production, manufacturing or another industrial environment would be particularly relevant. Strong mechanical fault-finding skills are important for this role.
