Job summary

Senior Bird Bellows in the United Kingdom is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our manufacturing team. With a minimum of 3 years in maintenance, you will be responsible for keeping production running safely and efficiently.

You will carry out planned maintenance, respond to breakdowns, support installations and continuous improvement, and work closely with production colleagues to maximise equipment reliability.

Qualifications

• Recognised Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship and related training.
• Ability to fault-find and diagnose mechanical issues efficiently.
• Strong teamwork and clear communication in a busy environment.
• Commitment to safe working practices and following procedures.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance across production machinery and site facilities.
• Responding to equipment breakdowns and assisting with fault finding and repairs.

We're looking for a motivated and hands-on Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our manufacturing team.

This role would be ideal for someone with minimum 3 years’ maintenance experience who is looking to develop their career and take on greater responsibility within a supportive engineering environment. Perhaps you're currently working as a Maintenance Technician, Mechanical Technician or Engineering Technician and are ready for the next challenge.

You'll be working in a team of engineers, gaining exposure to a wide range of machinery and equipment while helping to keep our production operation running safely, reliably and efficiently.

Essential

• Recognised Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in a maintenance, engineering or manufacturing environment.
• Mechanical maintenance experience gained through work experience, apprenticeship or technical role.
• Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work safely and follow established procedures.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• A proactive approach and desire to develop your engineering career.
• Recognised mechanical engineering apprenticeship or equivalent.
