Role: Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Salary: £40,000-£45,000 p/a

Hours: 8:30am – 5:00pm, Monday-Friday

Location: Commutable from Brighton, Hailsham, Worthing, Burgess Hill, Crawley, Shoreham-By-Sea, and surrounding areas.

Company: We are currently recruiting a Maintenance Engineer to work within a manufacturing organization near the south coast. You will benefit from joining a friendly and loyal team of Maintenance Engineers who work closely together to support a fast-paced environment.

Working within this knowledgeable team, the Maintenance Engineer will have good opportunities for development and support from an experienced engineering team working with interesting products. It is a multi-skilled environment with an emphasis on Mechanical skills.

Responsibilities

• Cover electro-mechanical maintenance work across the production facility.
• Main role is supporting all production machinery, including troubleshooting and resolving breakdowns and machinery problems.
• Perform planned preventative maintenance and undertake project work such as new installations.

Requirements

• Maintenance or Service Engineer background in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Proven hands-on maintenance experience in a multi-skilled capacity.
• Good maintenance and troubleshooting skills across motors, belts, bearings, chains, gears, pumps, sensors, inverters, relays, contactors, 3-phase systems, PLCs, pneumatics, hydraulics, etc.
• Heavily mechanically biased with some electrical experience preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting and fault-finding skills.
• Friendly, adaptable, and able to work well as part of a close-knit team.
• Proactive, self-starter attitude with flexibility regarding start and finish times.
• Ensure all activities comply with site health and safety instructions and relevant engineering standards.
