Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Yolk Recruitment is currently working on behalf of a growing manufacturer that has signed a long-term contract to supply into the UK's biggest names. With significant investment planned on site for 2024 and beyond, they are now looking to recruit additional Mechanical Maintenance Engineers to join their team working on a 3-shift pattern.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a multiskilled maintenance team with a structured training plan and career advancement opportunities in the role of Mechanical Maintenance Engineer.

This is what you’ll be doing

As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you will work on a 3-shift pattern, reporting to the Engineering Manager. Your responsibilities include proactive and reactive maintenance routines on facilities and production equipment, ensuring safety and efficiency.

• Provide electrical and mechanical support and knowledge on all lines within the plant.
• Perform equipment testing, fault finding, and repairs.
• Ensure maximum machine availability at minimum cost through effective planned preventative maintenance schedules.
• Work with other plant engineers and team leaders to focus on achieving machine maintenance hours on planned work.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
• Implement a Total Quality Approach across the site.

The experience you’ll bring to the team

• You will be a time-served Mechanical Maintenance Engineer with a minimum of NVQ Level 3 qualification in engineering.
• You will have at least 4 years of experience in a multiskilled maintenance role, ideally in an FMCG environment.
