Overview

Opportunity for Mechanical Lead / Package Manager to join our Life Science team in London. Reporting to the Regional Director/Regional MEP Lead, the MEP Lead has responsibility for the delivery of MEP systems across designated large and/or multiple smaller projects, ensuring they are on time, within budget, and meet the company's Zero objectives of safety, quality, and energy efficiency.

It is also essential to guide, lead, and motivate teams in applying our MEP management systems to achieve fully integrated and commissioned MEP systems that meet design and statutory requirements, leading to seamless handover and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities
  • Support the tendering and awarding of MEP packages according to project pre-construction and procurement strategies.
  • Ensure temporary electrical requirements, including load and energy assessments, align with management system guidelines.
  • Take responsibility for MEP integration and project delivery within the overall project team.
  • Manage MEP elements in accordance with relevant procedures and project-specific plans.
  • Align and integrate finalization of installation and commissioning programs with the main construction schedule.
  • Engage with utility companies early to understand and adhere to infrastructural and interface requirements.
  • Coordinate approval and construction of builders' works drawings by MEP contractors to meet schedule requirements.
Experience
  • Over 8 years of experience managing large-scale, complex MEP projects.
  • Understanding of MEP supply chain market and dynamics.
  • Operational involvement across all project phases, including estimating, pre-construction, installation, commissioning, and handover.
  • Demonstrated technical, interpersonal, and commercial skills necessary for project delivery.
  • Handover planning experience.
  • Live energies/arc flash training.
  • Membership at ACIBSE level or equivalent.
  • BIM fundamentals knowledge.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Building Services, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Membership of professional bodies such as CIBSE, CIOB, IEI, or equivalent.
  • Health & Safety management training (IO or equivalent).
  • Planning and programming skills.
