Overview

Opportunity for Electrical Lead / Electrical Package Manager to join our Life Science team in London.

Reporting to the Regional Director/Regional Electrical Lead, the Electrical Lead is responsible for the delivery of electrical systems across designated large and/or multiple smaller projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and meet the company's safety, quality, and energy objectives.

It is also essential to guide, lead, and motivate teams in applying our electrical management systems to deliver fully integrated and commissioned electrical systems that meet design and statutory requirements, leading to seamless handover and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities
  1. Support all aspects of the MEP technical and commercial parts of project bids, following company procedures.
  2. Guide the tendering and awarding of MEP packages in line with contract and procurement strategies.
  3. Ensure MEP teams determine temporary electrical requirements, including load and energy assessments.
  4. Take overall responsibility for MEP project delivery, providing leadership and motivation to teams.
  5. Support planning for building services resources to manage project delivery.
  6. Ensure teams manage their projects according to management procedures and project plans.
  7. Oversee the finalization of installation and commissioning programs to align with the main construction schedule.
  8. Facilitate early engagement with utility companies regarding infrastructure and interface requirements.
  9. Supervise the production of coordination and builders' works drawings for approval and construction.
  10. Manage equipment and plant tracking from approval to delivery, including quality checks.
  11. Identify and mitigate key project risks related to program, contractual, or commercial issues.
  12. Oversee quality inspections and sign-offs of MEP installations.
  13. Manage MEP start-up and control of live energies following company guidelines.
  14. Develop site-specific inspection, testing, and commissioning plans, including handover procedures.
Experience
  1. Over 10 years of managing large-scale and complex MEP projects.
  2. Strong understanding of the MEP supply chain and market dynamics.
  3. Mechanical or Electrical academic or technical qualification.
  4. Membership of professional institutions such as CIBSE, CIOB, IEI, or equivalent.
  5. Project management experience.
  6. Training in live energies and arc flash safety.
Qualifications
  1. Higher diploma or degree in electrical or construction-related fields.
  2. Chartered status with the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers (MCIBSE) or equivalent.
  3. BIM fundamentals certification.
  4. IOSH or similar health and safety management training.
  5. Knowledge of planning and programming.
