Job summary

Energy Jobline CVL is seeking a Mechanical Inspector for an on-site position in Esher. You will perform dimensional and visual inspections of precision components, aligning with drawings, tolerances and ISO standards.

The role requires hands-on use of verniers, calipers, micrometers, height gauges and CMM where applicable, with a focus on accuracy and defect reporting. Permanent contract; £18–£20 per hour, 39 hours/week.

Qualifications

• Experience inspecting precision-manufactured components.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, dimensions and tolerances.
• Knowledge of ISO quality standards; aerospace quality standards desirable.

Responsibilities

• Carry out dimensional and visual inspections of precision-manufactured mechanical components.

• Maintain high accuracy and attention to detail throughout inspections.

Mechanical Inspector Job Overview

• Carry out dimensional and visual inspections of precision-manufactured mechanical components.

Mechanical Inspector Job Requirements

• Previous experience working as a Mechanical Inspector within a manufacturing or precision engineering environment.
• Aerospace experience is highly desirable, although not essential.
• Strong practical experience using inspection equipment including verniers, callipers, micrometers and height gauges/towers.
• CMM experience is .
• Ability to accurately interpret engineering drawings, dimensions and tolerances.
• Knowledge of ISO quality standards and, ideally, aerospace-specific quality standards.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high quality standards.
• Must have the right to work in the UK.

Mechanical Inspector Salary & Benefits

• Salary: £18.00 - £20.00 per hour, dependent on experience and skill level
• Overtime: Paid at 1.5x the normal hourly rate; overtime is currently available but is not guaranteed
• Holiday entitlement: 25 days plus bank holidays
• Pension: Government pension scheme
• Working hours: 39 hours per week
• Monday to Thursday: 8:00am - 5:00pm
• Friday: 8:00am - 1:00pm
