Job summary

Actio Recruitment is seeking a Mechanical Inspector for a permanent role in Surrey. You will inspect precision components against drawings and specifications, using verniers, micrometers, height gauges, and other inspection equipment.

You will compile inspection reports and ensure all products meet customer and quality standards. The ideal candidate has aerospace or precision engineering experience, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work with production and quality teams.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Mechanical Inspector.
• Experience reading engineering drawings.
• Strong understanding of dimensional inspection and quality reporting.

Mechanical Inspector

Location: Surrey

Salary: £18.00 – £20.00 per hour depending on experience

Hours: Monday–Thursday 8:00am–5:00pm, Friday 8:00am–1:00pm

Contract: Permanent

Overtime: Available at 1.5x hourly rate, subject to availability

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Inspector to join a well-established precision engineering business on a permanent basis.

The successful candidate will ideally have experience within aerospace or precision engineering, with a strong understanding of mechanical inspection, engineering drawings and dimensional measurement.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect precision-engineered components to drawing and specification


• Carry out dimensional inspection using verniers, micrometers, height gauges and other inspection equipment


• Complete inspection reports and quality documentation


• Identify and report non-conforming components


• Work closely with production and quality teams


• Ensure products meet required customer and quality standards

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Mechanical Inspector


• Experience working from engineering drawings


• Confident using verniers, micrometers and height gauges/towers


• Good understanding of dimensional inspection


• CMM experience preferred


• Aerospace or precision engineering experience preferred


• Excellent attention to detail


• Must have the right to work in the UK
