Job summary

South West Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Mechanical Inspector to join an aerospace-focused workshop. You will ensure products are inspected at planned stages to prevent non-conforming parts, including 1st off, FAIR and final view.

Responsibilities include dimensional and visual inspection at all required stages, raising NCRs for non-conforming items, raising purchase orders to subcontractors, and compiling certificates of conformity.

• Dimensional and visual inspection of product at all required stages of manufacture.
• Raise Purchase Orders on sub contract suppliers
• Raise NCR for non-conforming product in accordance with procedure, label and contain non-conforming parts
• To ensure product non conformity is communicated to the quality engineers and production in a timely manner.
• Complete FAIRs in accordance with the applicable procedure.
• Utilise customer quality process and software as required; E.g. Net Insp
• Attain and comply with customer approved inspection requirements egDSQR
• Compile and approve certificates of conformity
• Attend and input into RCCA 8D meetings as required.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a similar engineering workshop environment within the aerospace industry. You must have excellent attention to detail and be capable of maintaining exceptional high standards of process control in all aspects of quality.
