Job summary

Wallace Hind Selection is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Fitter/Technician in Daventry to join the workshop team. You will manufacture, assemble, fit and repair products in the workshop and on occasional customer sites across the UK, ensuring safety and quality standards.

Applicants should read technical drawings, use hand tools and work well with colleagues. Training will be provided and travel may be required to customer sites.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing or industrial engineering environment.
• Practical, proactive approach to problem solving.
• Flexible when it comes to working hours.
• Attention to detail and ability to read technical drawings.
• Competent with bench work and various hand tools.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Hold a full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Manufacturing, building, fitting and repairing products in the workshop and occasionally on customer sites
• Carrying out quality control inspections to make sure your work meets the required standards
• Reading and working from technical drawings (schematics), client specifications and work instructions
• Making sure work is completed safely and in line with company procedures
• Working closely with colleagues across production and technical
• Looking after tools and equipment and keeping the workshop clean and organised
