Job summary

Holcim UK is seeking a proactive Mechanical Fitter to maintain and repair our concrete block plant at Torr Works in Shepton Mallet. The role is on-site, with rotational shifts, and a strong focus on safety and efficient plant operation.

You will perform planned and urgent maintenance, diagnose issues, and support site operations while training colleagues and ensuring safe, compliant work practices in a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent with welding, cutting and fabrication.
• Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems is preferred.
• Flexible for rotational shifts and a hands-on maintenance role.

Responsibilities

• Tackle equipment maintenance and troubleshoot breakdowns.
• Perform planned and urgent maintenance to keep operations running smoothly.
• Respond quickly to breakdowns to minimise downtime.
• Keep work areas organised, safe and hazard-free.
• Help train other team members in maintenance tasks.
• Follow safety guidelines and complete required documentation.
