Job Role: Field Service Engineer (Mechanical)

Location: Colchester, Essex

Salary: GBP33,000 - GBP35,000 base salary (OTE GBP45,000 - GBP60,000 pa)

Hours: Monday-Friday 08:00-16:30 + Door to Door Paid

Job Type: Full time, Permanent

The client:

Interaction has partnered with a rapidly expanding, innovative organisation based in the Wiltshire area to support the growth of their engineering team. Due to ongoing growth, we are seeking a skilled electromechanical engineer interested in learning, developing, and progressing within the Compact Plant industry.

The package includes:

• 28 days annual leave including bank holidays + 1 additional day per year / up to 25 days + Bank

• Occasional overnight stays (Paid subsidiaries, food & drink allowance)
• Overtime paid at 1.5x before hourly rate, 2x after 16:30; weekend work paid at 1.5x first four hours on Saturday, 2x thereafter; Sundays & Public holidays at 2x hourly rate
• Operate within a 3-hour radius of your location with door-to-door paid
• Opportunities for training and progression to senior roles

The Duties include:

• Attending breakdowns, servicing, and PPMs on industrial-scale compactor systems within the waste management industry
• Using manual hand tools (spanners, screwdrivers), electrical hand tools (powered drills, grinders), lifting equipment (slings, hoists), hot working tools (blowtorch, heat guns)
• Carrying out electrical, electronic, mechanical fault finding, including hydraulic systems
• Managing time effectively to ensure high standards and timely completion of work
• Updating job reports and ordering parts as necessary
• Following Health & Safety procedures

The Requirements include:

• Experience in electrical and/or mechanical fault finding, repair, and servicing (advantageous)
• Experience with MIG/TIG welding (advantageous but not essential)
• Good electrical or mechanical knowledge; roles may include plant engineer, maintenance engineer, hydraulic engineer, pneumatic engineer, mechanical fitter, forklift engineer
• Experience with electrical & mechanical tools
• Previous experience as a mechanical, electrical, or field-based engineer, including hydraulic systems/hoses, fault finding & repair, and some electrical work
• Full UK Drivers License
