Job summary

Nicholas Associates is seeking a Mechanical Fitter to join the Maintenance department at our Chesterfield site in Wingerworth. The role focuses on maintaining, servicing and repairing automated plant machinery to minimise production downtime.

Shifts are Monday to Friday: 6.00am–2.00pm, 2.00pm–10.00pm, 10.00pm–6.00am, with a salary of £43,160 plus a circa £3,000 shift premium = £46,160 per year, plus overtime.

Qualifications

• Experience in mechanical roles with component replacement.
• Ability to strip and rebuild machinery.
• Willingness to commute from surrounding areas (Alfreton, Clay Cross, Derby, Mansfield, Chesterfield, Belper).

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair automated plant machinery to minimise production downtime.
• Provide technical support on projects, installations and breakdowns.

• Job Title: Mechanical Fitter - Maintenance department

• Pay: £43,160 per annum plus circa £3000 shift premium = £46,160 per annum + overtime = earnings of £50000 and upwards achievable (overtime paid at 1.5 Mon-Sat and double on Sundays, however Sundays not likely)
• Holidays and Benefits: 24 days holiday + bank holidays, rising to 25 after year 1 and 26 after 2 years, Healthcare cash plan, Pension is 3.5% employer 4.5% employee.

Working in large manufacturing business that have sites across the globe, we now require an Mechanical Fitter to join the team.

Key responsibilities of the Mechanical Fitter role:

• To maintain service and repair all automated plant machinery to minimise production down time.
• Provide technical support on all projects, installations and breakdowns.

The ideal candidate / Mechanical Fitter may have some of the following, however, please note these are only desirable and not essential as all applications will be looked at individually:

Previous experience working in a mechanical role - competent changing like for like for like parts - stripping and rebuilding machinery.

Commutable from: Alfreton, Clay Cross, Derby, Mansfield, Chesterfield, Belper and surrounding areas.
