Job summary

Nicholas Associates Group is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Fitter for its maintenance department in a modern manufacturing environment. The role involves maintaining and repairing automated plant machinery to minimise downtime, with shifts on a 6.00am–2.00pm, 2.00pm–10.00pm, and 10.00pm–6.00am pattern.

The ideal candidate will have mechanical experience, the ability to swap like-for-like parts, and the confidence to strip and rebuild machinery.

Qualifications

• Mechanical fitter with ability to swap like-for-like parts, strip and rebuild machinery.
• Experience maintaining automated plant machinery to minimise production downtime.
• Willingness to work shift pattern including mornings, afternoons and nights if required.

• Salary: £43160 - £46160 per annum + + overtime earnings of £50k and upwards

• Job Title: Mechanical Fitter - Maintenance department
• Industry: Manufacturing
• Shift: Monday to Friday - 6.00am-2.00pm, 2.00pm-10.00pm, 10.00pm-6.00am
• Pay: £43,160 per annum plus circa £3000 shift premium = £46,160 per annum + overtime = earnings of £50000 and upwards achievable (overtime paid at 1.5 Mon-Sat and double on Sundays, however Sundays not likely)
• Holidays and Benefits: 24 days holiday + bank holidays, rising to 25 after year 1 and 26 after 2 years, Healthcare cash plan, Pension is 3.5% employer 4.5% employee.

Working in large manufacturing business that have sites across the globe, we now require an Mechanical Fitter to join the team.

Key responsibilities of the Mechanical Fitter role:

• To maintain service and repair all automated plant machinery to minimise production down time.
• Provide technical support on all projects, installations and breakdowns

The ideal candidate / Mechanical Fitter may have some of the following, however, please note these are only desirable and not essential as all applications will be looked at individually:

• Previous experience working in a mechanical role - competent changing like for like for like parts - stripping and rebuilding machinery.

Commutable from: Alfreton, Clay Cross, Derby, Mansfield, Chesterfield, Belper and surrounding areas.
