Job summary

Quay Personnel is supporting a Manchester-based engineering company in hiring a time-served Mechanical Fitter for workshop overhaul and repair work. You will be responsible for pump or electric motor overhaul, disassembly and reassembly, bearing/seal replacements, and testing components to ensure reliability.

The role is primarily workshop-based with some site work; Monday to Friday, 7.30am to 4pm, and a driving licence is essential for site tasks.

Qualifications

• Must be a time-served Mechanical Fitter with overhaul experience.
• Experience with pump or electric motor overhaul and seal/bearing replacement.
• Able to strip, identify worn parts, and reassemble and test assemblies.
• Hold a valid driving licence for site/work travel.
• Role primarily workshop based with some on-site work, 7:30am–4pm, Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities

• Overhaul and repair mechanical components in a workshop environment.
• Disassemble, inspect, identify worn or broken parts and replace as needed.
• Reassemble, test and commission mechanical assemblies after overhaul.
• Carry out pump or electric motor overhaul as required.
• Perform occasional site visits as part of the role.

Job description

Our client is an Engineering company based in the Manchester area and they require an experienced Mechanical Fitter with mechanical overhaul and repair experience to join them on a permanent basis. You must be a time served Mechanical Fitter ideally with experience of pump or electric motor overhaul, changing mechanical seals, bearings, seals, taking appart, identifying worn or broken parts and full asembly and test. The role is mainly workshop with some site based work so you must also have a full driving license for this role. The hours of work are Monday to Friday 7.30am - 4pm. This is a permanent role with
