Job summary

KPJ Group in Stretford, Manchester is hiring a Mechanical Fitter to support repair, refurbishment and installation of mechanical equipment across workshop and site projects.

You will use hand tools for fitting, work on gearboxes and pumps, and coordinate with project engineers while handling heavy equipment on site. The role runs Mon-Fri with early Friday finish and includes pension and parking benefits.

Qualifications

• Previous fitting experience required.
• Experience with gearboxes and pumps preferred.

Responsibilities

• Carry out mechanical fitting work using hand tools.
• Strip and reassemble flanges, linkages and water authority equipment.
• Work on hydraulic presses.
• Perform pre-installation checks.
• Coordinate with project engineers.
• Support bench work as needed.
• Handle heavy mechanical equipment.
• Use overhead cranes when needed.
• Work with your own hand tools.

Job description

We’re hiring for a Mechanical Fitter to join a mechanical engineering business based in Stretford, Manchester.

In this role, you’ll be working on mechanical equipment, supporting repair, refurbishment and installation work across the workshop and site-based projects.

• Mon - Fri | 7:30am – 4pm

What will you be doing as a Mechanical Fitter?

• Using hand tools to carry out mechanical fitting work

• Speaking with project engineers
• Supporting bench work when required
• Handling mainly heavy mechanical equipment
• Using overhead cranes when needed
