Job summary

Rise Technical Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Mechanical Fitter for a permanent role at their UK headquarters in Luton. You will assemble and disassemble units to engineering drawings, perform pressure tests and produce inspection reports, with a focus on right-first-time quality and safety.

Working 37 hours per week with a shift pattern (early/late) and a competitive salary of £46,176 including shift premium, plus training, development and a recognition scheme.

Qualifications

• Experienced Assembly/Mechanical Fitter in a manufacturing environment.
• Mechanical qualifications desirable.
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Assembly and disassembly of units to engineering drawings and quality plans.
• Pressure testing, dimensional reporting and strip/inspection reporting.
• Use of measuring equipment plus air powered and electrical tools.
• Preparing units for despatch, including paint/prep, and maintaining 5S standards.
• 37 hours per week, early/late shift pattern and Friday variance.

Luton, Bedfordshire (Commutable from: Dunstable, Harpenden, St Albans, Hemel Hempstead, Hitchin, Stevenage, Bedford, Milton Keynes)

Are you a Mechanical Fitter looking for a permanent, stable role with a well-established engineering manufacturer where you will be properly supported, trained and recognised for good work?

The business is a specialist within their industry, supplying critical industries including power, nuclear and water. Due to continued demand and ongoing work at their UK headquarters, they are looking to add to their assembly team.

This is a permanent position with a long-standing global manufacturer where you will receive ongoing training and development, excellent benefits, and a supportive team environment focused on right-first-time quality and safety.

In this role you will assemble and disassemble units to detailed engineering drawings, complete pressure testing, produce dimensional and strip inspection reports, and prepare equipment for despatch. You will use measuring equipment, air and electrical tools, and update jobs through the ERP system while maintaining 5S and safe working practices throughout.

This role would suit a Mechanical/Assembly Fitter from a manufacturing background looking for long-term security, on-the-job development and the support to do the job properly in a business that values quality and safety.

The Role

• Assembly and disassembly of units to engineering drawings and quality plans
• Pressure testing, dimensional reporting and strip/inspection reporting
• Use of measuring equipment plus air powered and electrical tools
• Preparing units for despatch, including paint/prep, and maintaining 5S standards
• 37 hours per week, Week 1: 6:00am to 2:15pm, Week 2: 2:15pm to 10:30pm. Fridays: 6:00am to 12:00pm/12:00pm-6:00pm
