Main Responsibilities
  • Perform repairs, maintenance, and inspections on engines, gearboxes, brakes, suspension systems, and other equipment.
  • Carry out diagnostic work and fault-finding to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Use and maintain tools, machinery, and company equipment safely and effectively.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and remedial repairs, including working at height or in confined spaces when required.
  • Assist with new builds, stock management, and fabrication of targets.
  • Complete all documentation accurately using both IT and paper-based systems.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, contractors, and asset users to ensure smooth site operations.
  • Provide mentorship and support to apprentices or trainees.
  • Undertake driving tasks, including operating specialist plant machinery if required.
The Ideal Candidate
  • Level 3 qualification in a relevant field (e.g., City & Guilds, ONC, NVQ) or equivalent, with relevant experience.
  • Full UK driving licence (Category C desirable).
  • Solid understanding of health & safety practices, including COSHH, manual handling, risk assessments, and safe systems of work.
  • Knowledge of specialist equipment (e.g., plant machinery and generators).
  • IT proficiency to complete documentation and reports.
  • Ability to operate and maintain tools and equipment effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proven track record of meeting objectives.
  • Excellent communication skills and experience dealing with customers.
  • Willingness to undertake training for high-risk environments (e.g., working at height or in confined spaces).
