Are you an experienced Mechanical Estimator looking for a role that offers quality projects, long-term security and a more balanced working environment?
We're working with one of the UK's best known M&E contractors that has built its success on long-term framework relationships rather than chasing highly competitive one-off tenders. As a result, this is not your typical high-pressure estimating role.
With an average T/O of c£30m to £35m and strong relationships across the public and private sectors, the business offers a stable pipeline of work and a collaborative, supportive culture.
The majority of projects are delivered through frameworks and repeat clients, with schemes typically 80-90% designed before reaching the estimating team. This creates a more structured and predictable environment, allowing you to focus on producing high-quality estimates rather than dealing with constant last-minute tender deadlines and heavily contested bids.
You’ll be responsible for preparing mechanical estimates, analysing tender documentation and engaging with the supply chain to secure competitive and compliant quotations.
Typical project values range from £2m to £18m M&E, with an average project size of £4m-£5m.
You’ll join the Leeds team which is part of an established Northern estimating function supporting projects across Leeds, Manchester and Newcastle. The culture is one of the biggest attractions. The team operates within a relaxed, professional environment where people are trusted to do their job without unnecessary pressure. Staff retention is strong, collaboration is encouraged and the business benefits from a healthy level of repeat work from longstanding clients.
This is an excellent opportunity for an estimator who enjoys the technical side of the role but is looking to move away from the constant pressure of aggressively competed tenders. The business's framework-led approach provides a more measured and collaborative way of working, backed by a substantial secured workload and a strong reputation across the Northern construction market
