Job summary

Allscreens Nationwide Ltd in Scotland seeks an experienced Mechanical Estimator to drive pre-construction activities across healthcare, education, industrial and public sector projects. You will prepare detailed estimates, review drawings, and manage take-offs to deliver competitive tenders.

Key responsibilities include analysing subcontractor quotations, identifying value engineering opportunities, and coordinating with commercial and operational teams from enquiry to handover.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Estimator within Building Services.
  • Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, pipework and public health systems.
  • Experience preparing tenders across commercial, healthcare, education, industrial or public sector projects.
  • Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical building services installations.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A recognised Mechanical Engineering, Building Services or related qualification.
  • Experience on projects £500k to £20m+ would be advantageous.

Your new company

Due to a significant increase in secured workload across major defence, infrastructure and commercial projects, our client is seeking an experienced Mechanical Estimator to join their pre-construction team.This established M&E contractor has an enviable reputation within the Scottish Building Services market and continues to secure high-profile projects across healthcare, education, commercial, industrial, residential and public sector environments. Following several major project wins and a strong pipeline of future work, they are looking to appoint an experienced Mechanical Estimator to support their continued growth.

Your new role

As Mechanical Estimator, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of tenders and pre-construction activities across a diverse portfolio of projects throughout Scotland.Working closely with clients, consultants, suppliers and internal project teams, you will be responsible for producing accurate and commercially competitive mechanical estimates from initial enquiry through to tender submission.

What you'll need to succeed
  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Estimator within the Building Services sector.

  • Experience preparing tenders across commercial, healthcare, education, industrial or public sector projects.
  • Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical building services installations.

  • A recognised Mechanical Engineering, Building Services or related qualification.
  • Experience working on projects ranging from £500k to £20m+ would be highly advantageous.
