Formula 1 is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Technical Author to join our Mechanical Engineering & Design team. You will deliver technical documentation, support governance, and ensure documentation aligns with internal standards.

A strong writing background and experience with document control are essential. The role reports to the Head of Mechanical Engineering & Design and involves collaboration with engineers, designers, and cross-functional teams to drive high-quality, compliant

Qualifications

• Essential: Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Masters in Mechanical Engineering or related field is a plus.
• Experience in supporting technical documents in an engineering environment.
• Familiarity with revision control and approval workflows.

Responsibilities

• Develop, author and maintain high-quality mechanical engineering documentation (design reports, specs, work instructions, test procedures, release docs).
• Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional teams to translate complex engineering content.
• Manage document control: versioning, traceability, change records, approvals.
• Prepare documentation packs and status reports for design reviews and audits.
• Update legacy docs reflecting changes and lessons learned.
• Coordinate with manufacturing, quality and supply chain to support build/inspection/validation docs.
• Maintain document registers and progress trackers across streams.
• Ensure documentation meets high professional standards for accuracy, confidentiality and deadlines.
