Job summary

Babcock's Cavendish Nuclear placement in Leicester offers a year-long Mechanical Engineering placement, delivering safe, secure and sustainable nuclear solutions that support the UK’s energy future. You’ll contribute to design, assessment and delivery of mechanical systems used across major programmes, gaining insight into project delivery and how engineers support critical national infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Studying an engineering degree in Mechanical, Structural, Materials, Motorsport, Mechatronics or Engine Systems.
• Degree accreditation by the relevant institution is preferred.
• BPSS and Security Check (SC) clearance must be achievable for the programme.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to design, assessment and delivery of mechanical systems for major nuclear programmes.
• Support calculations, produce and review technical documentation, assist with design substantiation and safety case development.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and progressively take on more responsibility.

Education

Engineering degree in Mechanical, Structural, Materials, Motorsport, Mechatronics or Engine Systems (accredited)
