Job summary

Matrix Recruitment Group is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager for a dynamic manufacturing site in Northern Ireland. You will lead the maintenance function, drive asset management and preventive maintenance, and work closely with production and project teams to maximize equipment performance.

You will develop and coach your maintenance crew, implement robust maintenance strategies, and ensure safe, compliant operations while managing budgets and improving efficiency across the site.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Considerable maintenance leadership background in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of asset and maintenance systems.
• Proven experience managing budgets and teams.
• Sound understanding of site utilities and infrastructure.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Passion for continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the maintenance department to ensure equipment operates safely, reliably, and efficiently.
• Create and implement robust asset management and preventive maintenance strategies.
• Oversee engineering systems standardisation across production.
• Manage maintenance systems, including spare parts using Holistech and MYMRO.
• Control maintenance budgets and monitor expenditure.
• Plan and prioritise activities to minimise downtime.
• Develop and support team members through training and performance management.
• Foster a culture focused on continuous improvement.
• Collaborate on new equipment and process projects.
• Manage contractor relationships for safety, quality, and value.
• Ensure compliance with engineering KPIs, Health & Safety, Food Safety, Environmental, and legislative standards.

Your New Job:
As the Maintenance Manager, you'll head up the site’s maintenance function, developing and overseeing efficient asset management and preventative maintenance programmes. You'll work closely with production and project teams, reporting to senior leadership (where specified), and will be responsible for leading, coaching, and developing your maintenance crew to excel.
