Pin Point Recruitment is seeking an Engineering Manager – Mechanical in Newcastle upon Tyne. You will lead a multidisciplinary engineering team of about 15 people, oversee workloads, resourcing and delivery, and review designs to guide technical decisions in a regulated environment.

The role focuses on people leadership with hands-on mechanical design expertise, ensuring compliance with client specifications and ISO 9001 practices, and supporting continuous improvement across the department.

Qualifications

• Experience leading an engineering or design team.
• Strong mechanical engineering background and design experience.
• Ability to manage a team of ~15 engineers.
• Experience in ISO 9001 environments or external audits.
• Engineering degree and/or HNC/HND with practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage and develop a team of ~15 engineers.
• Oversee workloads, priorities, resource allocation and project schedules.
• Hold regular one-to-one meetings and conduct performance reviews.
• Review mechanical designs and guide technical decisions.
• Ensure designs meet client specifications and relevant regulations.
• Maintain engineering documentation including risk assessments and FMECA.
