Job summary

Honeywell is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Leader in Luton to accelerate NPI within the mechanical/metering function. The role reports to the Engineering Director and offers a hybrid working model (3+2 days) with collaboration across product development teams in a fast-paced electro-mechanical R&D environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in fast-paced electro-mechanical R&D design and validation.
• Knowledge of electro-mechanical products; project leadership.
• Ability to work with incomplete information; confident in presentations.
• Proficient in 3D & 2D CAD; engineering material selection.
• Design for manufacture and lowest cost; value engineering; root cause analysis.
• Product approvals and validation; document management.

Responsibilities

• Focus on the mechanical/metering function located in Luton, collaborating with wider product development functions.
• Manage the mechanical/metering function activities based on priorities and resource loading; create product and work package specifications.
• Work closely with lead mechanical engineer; ensure activities defined, communicated and executed to specification; drive work package execution using PM tools.
• Report progress, risks and mitigations; forecast and manage 3rd party and labour costs; provide engineering solutions and leadership.
• Drive continuous improvement; collaborate with engineering and cross-functional partners; manage 3rd party consultants and suppliers; ensure facilities used with test, measurement, materials and prototype capabilities.
