Job summary

Stantec, a leading multidisciplinary consultancy, is hiring a Mechanical Engineer to join its Water team across Exeter, Bristol or Cardiff. You will contribute to delivering mechanical design for major water infrastructure projects and work with senior engineers and other disciplines.

You will be involved from feasibility through to detailed design and construction support, developing your technical capability while collaborating with clients, contractors and internal teams.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience in mechanical design within water or regulated infrastructure.
• Understanding of mechanical design principles and standards.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
• Proactive learning attitude and good organisation.

Responsibilities

• Support mechanical design from feasibility to construction support.
• Produce mechanical calculations, specifications, schedules and design documentation.
• Assist with pumping stations, water/wastewater treatment works, pipelines and related mechanical infrastructure.
• Conduct site visits, surveys and investigations as needed.
• Collaborate with electrical, process, civil and structural engineers to deliver integrated solutions.
• Work with clients and contractors to deliver projects safely and to high technical standards.
