Job summary

Stantec in the UK is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical design across major water and wastewater projects in Bristol, Cardiff or Exeter. You’ll work with project managers and multidisciplinary teams to deliver practical, sustainable solutions.

You’ll mentor junior engineers, deliver from feasibility to construction support, and collaborate across electrical, process, civil and structural disciplines to ensure integrated outcomes.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Chartered Engineer (CEng) or actively working towards Chartership.
• Experience delivering mechanical design within water or regulated infrastructure.
• Strong understanding of mechanical design principles & standards.
• Experience delivering technical design packages across multidisciplinary projects.

Responsibilities

• Deliver mechanical design activities from feasibility to construction support.
• Produce and review mechanical calculations, specs, schedules, and documentation.
• Lead the design of pumping stations, treatment works, pipelines and related infrastructure.
• Undertake site visits, surveys and technical investigations where required.
• Collaborate with electrical, process, civil and structural engineers for integrated solutions.
• Mentor and guide developing engineers and liaise with clients and contractors.
