Job summary

BAE Systems Digital Intelligence, based in Chelmsford's Great Baddow, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our interdisciplinary team. You will design and detail mechanical solutions, produce 3D CAD models and data packs, and support thermal management and structural analysis in demanding environments.

Qualifications

• Good degree in mechanical engineering or related field with relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical design, structural analysis, and materials.
• Proficient in CAD and Finite Element (FE) tools; able to produce 3D models and drawings.
• Able to work independently with some supervision and mentor others.
• Experience with environmental testing methods and thermal management.

Responsibilities

• Provide mechanical design service and promote best practices with toolsets.
• Innovate to develop new mechanical design and thermal management tech.
• Introduce new materials and processes to reduce production costs.
• Liaise with customers to understand requirements and develop bespoke solutions.
• Report findings clearly, in writing and verbally.
