Job summary

Systems Engineering & Assessment Ltd is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to deliver mechanical design and development support for diverse products and projects, including naval and undersea systems. You will collaborate with customers, suppliers, and SMEs on complex design issues, contributing to manufacturing data packs and technical documentation.

The role is based at our Barnstaple site with flexible working.

Qualifications

• Experience designing mechanical hardware for both commercial and military environments.
• Familiarity with design for excellence (DfX) including manufacturing, assembly, test, integration, and sustainability.
• Knowledge of military and commercial mechanical & environmental design standards (Def Stan, Mil Specs, CE/UKCA).

Responsibilities

• Contribute to work package delivery to ensure on-time, on-cost, and on-quality results.
• Provide mechanical engineering design and development support for products and projects.
• Liaise with customers, suppliers, project teams and SMEs on design issues.
• Produce design documentation and manufacturing data packs to BS8888 and related standards.
