Job summary

Arup in Southampton is seeking a Mechanical Engineer with a strong interest in building services and sustainable design. You will contribute to mechanical design across a range of projects, supported by senior engineers as you build technical judgement and progress toward chartership.

You will join the Building Engineering team, collaborating with multidisciplinary peers across the UK and internationally. The role offers training, development opportunities and exposure to ambitious projects

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering or related discipline.
• Working towards professional qualification through CIBSE, IMechE or similar.
• Interest in building services, energy efficiency and sustainable design.

Responsibilities

• Undertake mechanical calculations for heating, cooling, ventilation and water systems.
• Prepare design information, sketches, schedules, technical notes and reports.
• Contribute to energy and sustainability analyses using modelling outputs.
• Support Revit models, drawings, spatial coordination and other deliverables.
• Work with multidisciplinary teams to develop coordinated design solutions.
• Attend design meetings and communicate progress, risks and needs clearly.
• Assist site activities and participate in design reviews and CPD.
