Job summary

Hydro International, part of CRH, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join the UK Wastewater Services team. Based in Southampton, you will support water utilities by improving sewage sites across the UK and join our Manningtree branch as an experienced mechanical engineer.

The role requires a City & Guilds qualification or equivalent and a recognised mechanical apprenticeship, with a valid driving license. Onsite work, some travel, and industry-leading training are offered.

Qualifications

• Current Valid Driving License.
• City & Guilds qualification required.
• Recognised mechanical apprenticeship completed.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, set up and test water filtration systems on sewage sites.
• Carry out site inspections and fault finding; prepare survey reports for quotations.
• Access and interpret technical instructions using mobile devices.
• Work at heights, in confined spaces and on wastewater sites.
• Occasional overnight stays away from home are required.
• Work in Hydro workshops across the country when needed.
• Collaborate as part of a team with other staff and trades.

Job Description

The Mechanical Engineer will be working within Hydro International's UK Wastewater Services (UKWWS) team. We support water utility companies by improving sewage sites across the United Kingdom. We are looking for an experienced/qualified Mechanical Engineer to join us at our Manningtree branch.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, set up and test water filtration systems on sewage sites.
• Carry out site inspections and fault finding and compile survey reports for quotation purposes.
• Access and interpret technical instructions using mobile electronic equipment.
• Work at heights, in confined spaces and outside on sites connected with Wastewater (sewage).
• Work away from home on a regular basis, requiring overnight stays.
• Work in some of our workshops across the country on occasion.
• Work as a team with other staff and trades within the business.
