Job summary

Hydro International in Dumfries is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our UK Wastewater Services team. You will install, commission and test water filtration systems on sewage sites, carry out site inspections and compile survey reports for quotations.

You will travel regularly, stay away overnight, and occasionally work in workshops across the country. A City & Guilds qualification and a mechanical apprenticeship are required, along with a valid driving license.

Qualifications

• Valid driving license is required.
• City & Guilds qualification is required.
• Completed a recognised mechanical apprenticeship.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, set up and test water filtration systems on sewage sites.
• Carry out site inspections and fault finding and compile survey reports for quotation purposes.
• Access and interpret technical instructions using mobile electronic equipment.
• Work at heights, in confined spaces and outside on sites connected with Wastewater (sewage).
• Work away from home on a regular basis, requiring overnight stays.
• Work in some of our workshops across the country on occasion.
• Work as a team with other staff and trades within the business.

Job Title – Mechanical Engineer

Location – Dumfries. (The position requires working away from home on a regular basis, requiring overnight stays)

Salary – Circa £30,000 - £50,000 OTE DOE

The Mechanical Engineer will be working within Hydro International's UK Wastewater Services (UKWWS) team. We support water utility companies by improving sewage sites across the United Kingdom.

We are looking for an experienced/qualified Mechanical Engineer to join us at our Dumfries branch.
