Job summary

Speedy Hire Plc in Newport is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to perform mechanical repairs, assembly and servicing on our range of industrial products including power tools and lifting equipment. The role is based at the Newport depot with Monday to Friday, 42 hours per week.

You will need previous mechanical engineering experience, good computer skills (Microsoft Office) and strong communication abilities. The company promotes training, development and progressive career opportunities.

Qualifications

• Previous mechanical engineering experience is essential, ideally in hire industry or other engineering field.
• Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
• Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
• Able to work under pressure and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical repairs, assembly and servicing on Speedy’s range of industrial products such as power tools and lifting equipment.
• Ensure repairs and maintenance of equipment are prioritised effectively.
• Based in the Newport depot and support your business unit to deliver ESG strategy.
