Job summary

JG Pears Newark is offering an Apprentice Mechanical Engineer position with a day-release college programme. You will gain hands-on experience in mechanical and process engineering, mentored by experienced engineers, and work on maintenance, fault finding, and project tasks.

The role includes the Apprenticeship Standard in Engineering Fitter Level 3, with a dedicated assessor and site mentor. Shift is Mon-Fri 7am-3pm, with overtime during maintenance shuts.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths are essential.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out proactive/planned mechanical maintenance as part of a small team.
• Fault finding and reactive mechanical repairs.
• Undertake mechanical projects and outage works.
