Job summary

Adecco is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for the Wigton area to join a well-established manufacturing business. The role focuses on hands-on maintenance of production machinery, responding to breakdowns, and implementing improvements to reduce downtime.

Successful candidates will have a mechanical engineering qualification and experience in manufacturing, with a proactive approach and a Full UK driving licence preferred. Training will be provided on company machinery and processes.

Qualifications

• Mechanical Engineering qualification such as ONC, NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds.
• Previous experience within manufacturing or production environments.
• Strong mechanical fault finding and repair experience.
• Knowledge of preventative maintenance.
• Positive and proactive approach.
• Full UK driving licence preferred.

• Diagnosing faults and repairing production equipment.
• Supporting machinery installations and upgrades.
• Responding to breakdowns and reducing downtime.

Mechanical Engineer

Wigton Area

Adecco Workington are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Engineer to join a well established manufacturing business in the Wigton area.

This is a hands-on role supporting the maintenance and performance of production machinery across the site. The successful candidate will be involved in both planned and reactive maintenance, machinery improvements and breakdown support within a busy manufacturing environment.

Hours are Monday to Friday working days initially, with flexibility required around shifts as training progresses and business needs develop.
