Job summary

New Appointments Group is seeking a practical Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to support production operations in Thanet. You will perform preventative maintenance and repairs on a range of machinery and site equipment, with responsibilities spanning mechanical fault-finding and basic electrical tasks where needed.

Mechanical Maintenance Engineer – £negotiable – Thanet

The Role

As part of the maintenance team, you'll be responsible for maintaining and repairing a wide range of production machinery and site equipment. This is a practical role with a mechanical focus, supporting the smooth running of manufacturing operations.

Key responsibilities include:

• Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs.
• Diagnosing and resolving mechanical faults on production machinery.
• Servicing hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
• Completing maintenance records and ensuring work is carried out safely.
• Undertaking basic electrical maintenance such as replacing switches, sensors and other simple components where required.

About You

We're looking for someone with:

• Previous experience within a manufacturing, production or industrial maintenance environment.
• Mechanical maintenance and fault-finding skills.
• A proactive approach with excellent problem-solving skills.
