Senior Mechanical Engineer / Mechanical Engineer

Location: Austin, Texas
Salary Range: $100,000 – $180,000
Employment Type: Full-Time

Senior Mechanical Engineer / Mechanical Engineer required to join an emerging defense technology company focused on next-generation missile systems, delivering affordable, high-performance precision weapons to the U.S. military and allied forces.

Senior Mechanical Engineer / Mechanical Engineer Key Responsibilities

  • Lead mechanical design and analysis for shoulder-fired missile systems and other small, affordable weapons platforms.
  • Perform structural, stress, and thermal analysis to ensure system integrity under extreme operational conditions.
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to integrate mechanical, electrical, and software subsystems.
  • Ensure designs meet MIL-STD-810 and other military qualification standards.
  • Work in a fast-paced, risk-tolerant environment, balancing innovation with manufacturability.
  • Support prototyping, testing, and validation of mechanical components and full systems.
  • Contribute to future product development, ensuring a strong pipeline of advanced defense solutions.

Senior Mechanical Engineer / Mechanical Engineer Qualifications & Experience

  • 5–15 years of experience as a Senior Mechanical Engineer / Mechanical Engineer n mechanical design and analysis for defense or aerospace applications.
  • Experience working at Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, Boeing, L3 Harris or another missile manufacturer would be of interest
  • Background in missile systems or related platforms preferred.
  • Experience with structural, thermal, and stress analysis tools (e.g., ANSYS, NASTRAN, Abaqus).
  • Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, Creo, or CATIA).
  • Strong understanding of MIL-STD-810 and other military design requirements.
  • Ability to work in high-growth, agile environments with a focus on rapid development.
  • Secret or Top Secret DoD clearance (or ability to obtain one) preferred.
