Job summary

Cambridge Maintenance Services Limited is seeking a Building Services Mechanical Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical Bias) to maintain mechanical, electrical and building fabric systems within a high-end retail environment. You will perform planned and reactive maintenance, with a fundamental understanding of electrical services and fault diagnosis.

You will be equipped with a company phone, tablet, uniform and PPE to deliver efficient service while adhering to safety and compliance standards.

Qualifications

• Level 3 mechanical engineering qualification (City & Guilds / NVQ or equivalent).
• Experience in Building Services / Facilities Management.
• Hands-on experience with mechanical pipework, pumps, motors, valves and bearings.
• Experience with planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance in commercial environments.
• Ability to diagnose faults and repair efficiently, safely, and independently.
• Strong IT skills and updating digital job records and maintenance systems.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance across mechanical and building services.
• Diagnose faults and repair mechanical plant and equipment to minimise downtime.
• Maintain and repair building services equipment including mechanical pipework, pumps, motors, bearings, valves and HVAC plant/equipment.
• Complete servicing, repairs, replacements, and installations of plant, fixtures and fittings.
• Undertake general building maintenance including basic plumbing and fabric repairs.
• Provide detailed updates, quotations and maintenance reports through CAFM system.
• Support health & safety and statutory compliance across site operations.
• Carry out housekeeping and keep plant rooms and work areas clean to a high standard.
• Work with colleagues, subcontractors, tenants and clients to ensure excellent service delivery.
• Participate in a 1 in 4 out-of-hours call-out rota after probation.
• Undertake overtime as reasonably required.

Job Title

Job Description:

As a Building Services Mechanical Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical Bias) you will be responsible for maintaining mechanical, electrical, and building fabric systems across a high-end retail shopping centre environment.

You will undertake both scheduled planned preventative maintenance and reactive works, ensuring all systems remain compliant, safe, and fully operational. While this is a mechanically biased role, the successful candidate will be expected to have a basic understanding of electrical building services systems and be comfortable carrying out first-line fault identification where required.

You will be equipped with a company mobile phone, tablet, uniform, PPE, and all necessary equipment to support you in delivering an efficient and professional service.

Key Responsibilities:

Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across mechanical and building services systems.

Diagnose faults and undertake repairs to mechanical plant and equipment, ensuring minimal downtime.

Maintain and repair building services equipment including mechanical pipework systems, pumps, motors, bearings, valves, and HVAC plant/equipment.

Complete servicing, repairs, replacements, and installations of plant, fixtures, and fittings where required.

Undertake general building maintenance tasks, including basic plumbing and fabric repairs.

Essential Skills & Qualifications:
