Job summary

Pro-Found Recruitment Solutions are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Engineer/Mechanical Fitter to join our client based in the DN12 area of Rotherham. This hands-on role focuses on fitting, installation, maintenance and fault-finding to keep production running smoothly.

You'll work in a busy industrial manufacturing environment, carrying out planned and reactive maintenance, with a focus on mechanical fitting, repair and installation of plant and machinery.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter, Mechanical Engineer or similar.
• Strong practical fitting, installation and maintenance skills.
• Experience stripping, assembling and repairing industrial machinery.
• Good mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving ability.
• Experience with mechanical plant and production equipment.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of mechanical components and maintenance practices.
• A practical hands-on approach with attention to detail.
• Strong commitment to health and safety.
• Relevant engineering qualifications would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out planned and reactive mechanical maintenance.
• Mechanical fitting, assembly and installation of machinery and plant.

• Installing and replacing mechanical components.

• Fabrication and basic welding work where required.
• Identifying potential mechanical issues and carrying out preventative repairs.
• Working closely with production and engineering teams to minimise downtime.
• Completing maintenance records and documentation.
• Ensuring all work is carried out safely and in accordance with site procedures.

Mechanical Engineer/Mechanical Fitter

Pro-Found Recruitment Solutions are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Engineer/ Mechanical Fitter to join our client based in the DN12 area of Rotherham.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on mechanical engineer with strong fitting, installation, maintenance and fault‑finding experience to join an established manufacturing business.

• Location: Denaby Main - DN12
• Salary: Negotiable
• Temporary - approx. 6 weeks
• Hours: Monday to Thursday 8am to 5pm and Friday 8am to 12 noon - 40 hours per week

The Role

Working within a busy industrial manufacturing environment, you will be responsible for the mechanical fitting, installation, maintenance and repair of plant and machinery across the site.

You'll be a practical, hands‑on engineer who is confident stripping down, repairing, fitting and installing mechanical equipment and identifying faults to keep production running efficiently.

Criteria

We're looking for a hands‑on Mechanical Engineer/Fitter with experience working in a manufacturing, industrial or heavy engineering environment.

You'll ideally have:

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter, Mechanical Engineer, Maintenance Engineer or similar.
• Strong practical mechanical fitting and installation skills.
• Experience stripping, fitting, assembling and repairing industrial machinery.
• Good mechanical fault‑finding and problem‑solving ability.
• Experience working with mechanical plant and production equipment.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
• Good knowledge of mechanical components and maintenance practices.
• A practical, hands‑on approach with good attention to detail.
• Strong commitment to health and safety.
• Relevant engineering qualifications would be advantageous.

Experience within refractories, steel, foundry, manufacturing, heavy engineering or other industrial environments would be particularly beneficial.
