Job summary

Berry Recruitment Group is seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter for the Knaresborough area. The role is a contract for an initial 3 months with potential to extend or go permanent. Start ASAP, with consideration if a notice period applies.

Offer: £35 per hour PAYE, weekly pay, and 32 days annual leave (pro-rated if needed). Location: Knaresborough. Hours: Week 1 8:00–16:00, Week 2 22:00–06:00, Monday to Friday, with additional hours possible.

Responsibilities

• Rectify problems on mechanical assets such as conveyor belts, pumps, gearboxes, valves and cranes
• Carry out Fabrication work and general workshop duties
• Be responsible for PPM and Reactive maintenance work, ensuring the highest standards are set and maintained
• Assist with and actively participate in planned outages
• Operate Workshop machinery, fabrication, and refurbishment
• Communicate problems and concerns promptly through line management ensuring quick resolution
• Assist in delivering Maintenance Team KPIs

Job description

We are currently looking for experienced Mechanical Fitter in the Knaresborough area.

Contract - Initial 3 months with possibility to be extended or gone permanent.

Start - ASAP - will wait if there is a notice period

32 Days annual leave for the year (prorated if contract less than 12 months)

Pay £35 an hour PAYE - Weekly Pay

Location - Knaresborough

Working hours for this role are as follows:

• Week 1: 8am - 4pm Monday to Friday
• Week 2: 10pm - 6am Monday - Friday

Although these are the core hours, candidates who apply must be willing to commit to additional hours (12 hours a day).

Experience

• Ability to read and work from mechanical drawings/ documents.
• Experience/knowledge of safe systems of work including permit to work, method statements and risk assessments.
• Ability to carry out planned preventative maintenance tasks.
• Ability fault-find and repair mechanical assets.
• Good communication.
• Experience writing Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
