Job summary

Nicholas Associates Group is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join its growing MEP consultancy based in Birmingham. The role covers a diverse range of projects including commercial, residential, healthcare, education and mixed-use developments.

The successful candidate will design mechanical building services, produce calculations and drawings, and work closely with electrical engineers. UK Building Regulations knowledge and software experience are essential; Chartership is encouraged.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
• Experience in an MEP consultancy or building services environment.
• Knowledge of UK Building Regulations and British Standards.
• Experience using Hevacomp, IES, Revit, AutoCAD or similar.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Chartership (towards) is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Design and specification of mechanical building services systems including HVAC, heating, ventilation, domestic water and public health systems.
• Produce calculations, technical reports and design drawings.
• Work with electrical engineers and project teams.
• Attend client meetings and site visits as required.
• Support projects from concept through to completion.
• Ensure designs comply with current regulations and industry standards.
• Contribute to delivering projects on time and within budget.

An established and growing MEP Building Services Consultancy in Birmingham is looking to appoint a Mechanical Engineer to join its dynamic design team. This is an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer who is looking to develop their career across a diverse range of projects including commercial, residential, healthcare, education, and mixed-use developments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and specification of mechanical building services systems including:
  • HVAC
  • Heating systems
  • Ventilation
  • Domestic water services
  • Public health systems

• Working towards Chartership (desirable but not essential).
