Position: Mechanical/ Electronics/Mechatronics Test Engineer

Location: Dundee, Scotland

Salary Range: 41,600 - 62,400 GBP annually (DOE)

We are seeking an Engineer to work within the Solution Test and Compliance Team in Dundee. This team supports all test and certification activities across engineering development of complex ATM banking machines distributed worldwide.

This role involves working cross-functionally with teams including Test, Quality, Engineering, Product Design, Device Design, Marketing, Supply, etc. The Test Engineer will be responsible for designing tests to ensure products meet specifications and support product releases, developing test plans and specifications for hardware solutions, and conducting independent 'test-to-fail' tests. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and agree on Test and Validation Plans, integrating them into Project Plans and engineering activities.
  • Contribute to the development of Device and Product level Test specifications.
  • Plan and conduct independent device tests, including integration with other Devices and Components.
  • Perform product level testing, including system integration and acceptance testing.
  • Install ATM software and conduct system integration testing.
  • Conduct automated and manual tests at various levels.
  • Participate in design reviews at device and product levels.
  • Set up test environments, develop test equipment and media, and create test specifications.
  • Develop test equipment, including automation and robotics.
  • Create comprehensive test scripts and scenarios to validate against design specifications.
  • Issue Test Status and Final Reports regularly.
  • Provide input during project stage gate reviews.
  • Maintain test effectiveness measures and pursue continuous improvement activities.
  • Support ISO9001:2015 quality management system through audits and process improvements.
Educational and Background Requirements
  • Degree in Mechanical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or related Engineering field.
  • Experience in engineering development and manufacturing environments.
  • Exposure to full product development lifecycle.
  • Experience with product and device level testing.
