The standby rota covers the whole of South and Southeast London.

If successful, you will ensure that all equipment at our sites is running safely and efficiently using proactive and reactive maintenance methods. You will inspect, maintain, fault diagnose, test, install, modify, or repair electrical and mechanical plant equipment.

  2. Investigating plant failures and carrying out repairs quickly and efficiently to avoid process interruptions, including diagnosing complex faults during incidents.
  3. Providing technical advice, referring to up-to-date technical knowledge, and supporting training for technical trainees if required.
  4. Working on equipment such as pumps, control gear, 3-phase motors, starters, controls, electronic control systems like VSDs, automatic valves, flow, level and pressure measurement, PLCs, and chemical handling and dosing equipment.
  5. Participating in a standby rota following relevant training.

Base Location: Waddon - CR0 4HY

Working Pattern: 38 Hours, Monday-Friday 7:30 am – 3:36 pm, plus standby & overtime opportunities

What you should bring to the role
  • Significant experience working on mechanical plant and electrical systems, including pumps, actuated valves, and electronic control systems such as VSDs.
  • Previous experience in an electrical apprenticeship, ONC/HNC in engineering, NVQ, or C&G level 3 in mechanical engineering with an upskill qualification in mechanical NVQ2/3.
  • Experience in inspecting, maintaining, fault diagnosis, testing, installing, modifying, or repairing mechanical and electrical plant equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Knowledge and awareness of health and safety issues.
  • Physical fitness, as work involves working in chambers with restricted access.
