Job summary

Kier Group is recruiting a Mechanical and Electrical Project Engineer for the United Utilities Water Framework in the North West. The role involves coordinating MEICA works across water systems, working with project managers, designers and supply chain partners to ensure safe, compliant and right-first-time delivery aligned with programme goals.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering mechanical and/or electrical works on capital projects, ideally UK water sector, utilities or regulated environments.
• Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems including pumps, valves, pipework, MCCs, LV distribution, drives, instrumentation and control interfaces.
• Ability to read, review and coordinate technical drawings, specifications, P&IDs, cable schedules, equipment schedules and control philosophies.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate mechanical and electrical work packages including pumps, valves, pipework, MCCs, LV distribution, drives, instrumentation, actuated valves, telemetry, and PLC/SCADA interfaces.
• Review design information, drawings, schedules, and supplier documentation for buildability and compliance with UU requirements.
• Collaborate with designers, construction teams and subcontractors to resolve technical queries and installation constraints.
• Prepare RAMS, permits, inspection plans, FAT/SAT requirements, commissioning packs and handover records.
• Support safe isolation, shutdown, tie-in, and cut-over planning for live water and wastewater assets.
