Mechanical & Electrical Production Operative

Job Overview

A Mechanical & Electrical Production Operative is responsible for assembling, testing, and maintaining mechanical and electrical components in a manufacturing or production environment. This role involves working with machinery, wiring, and mechanical systems to ensure that products meet quality and safety standards.

Mechanical Duties

  • Assembling mechanical components and structures
  • Using hand and power tools for fitting, drilling, and fixing parts
  • Conducting routine maintenance on machinery and equipment
  • Reading and interpreting technical drawings and assembly instructions

Electrical Duties

  • Wiring and connecting electrical components in line with schematics
  • Installing and testing circuits, sensors, and control panels
  • Identifying and repairing electrical faults
  • Ensuring compliance with electrical safety regulations
  • Conducting quality checks on finished products
  • Reporting defects or equipment malfunctions to supervisors
  • Maintaining a clean and safe workspace
  • Following health and safety guidelines
